The theme of RESTA reflects the most important issues in the construction sector

RESTA Exhibition on Construction and Renovation was held at the Lithuanian Exhibition and Convention Centre LITEXPO. The participants of the exhibition were welcomed by Vice-Minister of Environment Arūnas Remigijus Zabulėnas. It was the 18th time that this exhibition invited the players of the construction sector, and it was the most important spring event for the Lithuanian construction sector.

More than 450 companies from some 16 countries presented their latest developments and demonstrated their modern construction technologies. Their exhibits filled the entire area of LITEXPO – all the halls and all the outdoor fields. In its magnitude the exhibition exceeded not only other exhibitions organised in Lithuania but also exhibitions in other Baltic States. It’s focus was traditionally on construction and finishing materials. Hi-tech, modern equipment and landscaping ideas were presented as well.

Another characteristic of this specialised exhibition is its very relevant theme. This year was no exception, as one of the focus of the exhibition was alternative heating. Another focus – environmentally sound materials and articles. Also, quite a lot of attention was devoted for the renovation of housing. Those wishing to get information about the renovation of old multiple dwelling buildings and the benefits of such renovation visited the stand of the Ministry of Environment and the Housing and Urban Development Agency where they received information and consulting. The stand was active for the four days of the exhibition. Specialists provided consulting and answered all questions that the visitors had.

The Programme for the Modernisation of Multiple Dwelling Buildings, its implementation opportunities, the novelties in the renovation of housing were discussed in the forum Renovation of Multiple Dwelling Buildings: Inevitable and Well-timed. The very first multiple dwelling building in the country that is being renovated according to new solutions was presented. These forums, just like any one of the fifty events held at the exhibition, were a good chance to gain experience and to learn the latest developments.

The discussion about the sustainable construction organised by RESTA also gained much attention. Representatives of the Committee on Environment Protection of the Seimas, the Ministry of Environment, the Lithuanian Builders Association, the Architects Association of Lithuania, the Lithuanian Real Estate Development Association and the business community participated in discussions about buildings that must remain economically efficient, environmentally sound and resource efficient for their entire life-cycle.
