New evaluation showed larger oil reserves

Recalculation of oil reserves in Diegliai oilfield showed that the reserves were larger than estimated during previous investigation.
Diegliai oilfield in located in the western part of Lithuania. It was discovered in 1972 once the first well was drilled in Diegliai local upslope. Currently, Diegliai oilfield is operated by UAB Minijos nafta, which has been performing geological surveying and oil extraction in the oilfield since 1999.

At the start of this year UAB Minijos nafta recalculated oil reserves in Diegliai oilfield. The volume of original geological oil reserves in this oilfield approved by the Lithuanian Geological Survey was 1,131.69 thousand tons.

The comparison of oil reserves in Diegliai oilfield established based on the previous survey data of 1975 and recalculated by UAB Minijos nafta in 2014 showed that oil reserves are much larger. It has been established that reserves of Diegliai oilfield are almost 47% and extracted oil reserves – almost 39% larger than established during previous surveys.
