Good news for business – more land use opportunities in industrial areas

From now on, repair companies or shops and energy facilities such as wind turbines can be set up within land parcels located in industrial and warehousing areas. This is the new provision added to the specification of land use methods, which was approved a decade earlier, by the Minister of Environment Kęstutis Trečiokas and Minister of Agriculture Virginija Baltraitienė.

Marius Narmontas, Director of the Territorial Planning, Urban Development and Architecture Department of the Ministry of Environment, says this is good news for business. Until now, construction of energy facilities was only permitted within the area of facilities servicing the communication and engineering infrastructure and it often required additional procedures in order to change or prescribe the land use method. The broader opportunities will ensure a more rational and targeted use of land within the areas of industrial facilities.
