Tauragė water purification plant undergoes reconstruction

Today, Tauragė will see the opening of a reconstructed water purification plant that will allow the citizens to drink water of an improved quality.

The daily capacity of the reconstructed plant is 11 880 m3. The plant will serve almost 11 000 households in Tauragė, i.e. more than 26 000 inhabitants connected to the centralised water supply network.

The value of the water purification plant amounts to EUR 2 mln. The facility has undergone reconstruction under the project “Reconstruction of the water supply station at Šlaito Str. 2, Tauragė”. The project is financed from the European Union structural funds with the aim of increasing the accessibility of water supply and wastewater management services and the system effectiveness.

We are happy that after the reconstruction work the inhabitants of Tauragė will have clean water of good quality that meets the hygiene standards, and an improved overall ecological status of the city since safe drinking water is vitally important for human health and economic welfare!
