Ministry of Environment to join the global Earth Hour campaign

It has been several years now that the Ministry of Environment has joined the global Earth Hour campaign. Tomorrow, on 25 March, at 20:30 local time, millions of people across the world will switch off lights for one hour and let the planet to rest for 60 minutes. The indoor and outdoor lighting in the building of the Ministry of Environment will be switched off, to the extent permitted by the safety requirements, for one hour in solidarity with this civil campaign called Earth Hour.

“I would like to invite everyone to be the actual masters of our Earth. Let us save the nature and let us let the planet to have a short rest, and for this purpose, let us not use electric energy for one hour tomorrow. Let us devote this symbolic hour to live communication. May this time remind us of the threats posed by climate change and make us think about the ways how we could combine our efforts to deal with them”, says Minister of Environment Kęstutis Navickas.

Earth Hour is an international campaign which encourages us to switch off electric devices for one hour so that all people remember the cost of this to our green planet. Thousands of cities and locations across the world turn off lights and all non-vital electrical devices with the symbolic message: we do not have another Earth.
